Photos like this sum up long travel days on tour perfectly for me; watching the sun set out of the window of a moving vehicle is a trusted constant.
One thing about being on the move like this is that often there is lots of free time. I always feel as if I should be more productive with it but the problem is that such time is so bitty and unreliable that it is very hard to get into any sort of working rhythm.
Most of the time I find that I slip into a pattern of transient mobile gaming, music, reading and, of course, too much somewhat listless social networking (witness this blog); little bits and pieces to make the time pass. Things are made more difficult right now because my ageing laptop is actually not really portable and the Android tablet that was my pride and joy was terminally claimed by a particularly eventful evening the night of the Young Pilgrim launch. I am, at present, not particularly mobile but that’s my own fault hey?
Don’t get me wrong though, I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. It’s weird when you can genuinely utilise the cliché ‘living the dream’…
